The intention of the retreat is to bring together a wide range of musical essence for mind bending creative exploration, so we screen applications before filling spaces to help nurture a fruitful roster of creators on site

An interstellar funk champion, Freddy Todd has no time to waste in this galaxy. Born & raised in Detroit, he found his way into the matrix at age 14, rapidly understanding the intricacies of glitch found within Windows XP.

After being bestowed a keytar from his main homie (his dad) at 18, he has continued to shred not only the minds of his fans but the evil vibes throughout the world via bass music and good times. Now with over a decade of touring from Red Rocks to Burning Man, Coachella, Australia and beyond, and with over twenty studio album releases under his belt, Freddy Todd is a psychedelic hyper throw down dance party for the people, and something to be witnessed and enjoyed at a (comfortably) loud volume.

Stone Owl is Jake Greba’s musical medium for deep, bass heavy Detroit techno, house, and downtempo.

A main stage movement veteran Drawing inspiration from 33+ years of production and a lifetime of musical adventures like playing sold out palladium opening for metallica, touring with Kid Rock as turntablist in the Howling Diablos, DJinG the hip hop group the Artful Dodgers, scratching over live jazz, and everything in between. he now focuses on production, DJing and education.

alongside his work in Music, he is a renowned plant worker with 12 cannabis cups and his brand midnight roots, a highly curated line of craft products and chocolates.

How are the workshops structured?

The current draft schedule is posted above. As for the Workshop Hours and Skill Shares; once the guest roster is finalized, a group chat will commence. In this chat we will discuss what workshops each member might want to present and update the schedule based on what has the highest demand and topic range.
Is it based on a specific DAW?

While many of the producers in the past have used Ableton, you are welcome to use any DAW. The personal challenges are done on your own computer, and the workshops will lean towards learning new workflows and pushing creative boundaries. Many have found benefit with just their MPC or even Garageband for iPad.
How do the challenges work?

Everyone is given a set of guidelines and sounds to use. They then have 1.5 hours to go in the headphones and draft a song with it. Afterwards, everyone has a chance to display their screen and share how they used the samples / mindset. Many find value here by seeing new approaches, and training their mind to make creative decisions on the fly without attachment.
When will I know if I am approved?

We are keeping enrollment open until Nov 15th. If beds haven't been filled by then, we will keep the applications open until they fill. All applicants will be placed on waiting list incase of last minute openings.
